About ImageConvert.tools
ImageConvert.tools is a free image converter built by FusionStudios in the Netherlands that runs entirely in your own browser, with no upload, no account and no file size limit.
Why this site exists
Most online converters upload your files to a server, throttle you with file size caps and daily limits, and push you toward a paid plan. ImageConvert takes the opposite approach: everything runs directly in your browser, so conversions are instant, unlimited and completely private. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay.
How it works
Modern browsers are powerful enough to decode and encode images on their own. ImageConvert uses the Canvas API and WebAssembly to convert formats like HEIC, AVIF, WebP, PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP and ICO right on your device. The video and audio tools use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, served from our own domain. Because no upload is involved, a large batch of photos converts in seconds, even on a slow connection.
What you can do here
Beyond the image converter, there is a growing set of free tools: an image compressor, resizer and cropper, images to PDF, video and audio conversion, a QR code generator and more. All of them follow the same rules: free, no account, no watermark and no uploads.
Privacy first
Your files never leave your browser, and you do not have to take that on faith: three ways to check it yourself are written out, the quickest being to disconnect from the internet and convert anyway. The full technical account, including what happens to your EXIF data and colour profile, is on how it works. The formal document is the privacy policy.
Who builds this
ImageConvert.tools is built and maintained by FusionStudios, a web studio based in the Netherlands. That link is the place to check who is behind this site. The site launched in 2026 and is edited by the same people who write the code, which is why the pages about what the converter does to your pixels are accurate: they are written from the implementation rather than about it.
The naming is worth a note, because it causes confusion. This site is ImageConvert.tools, at imageconvert.tools. It is not affiliated with imageconvert.org, imageconvert.to, imageconvertertool.com or the Windows desktop application of a similar name. If you are trying to work out which one you are looking at, the domain is the answer.
Corrections and contact
The guides and the open format dataset make factual claims about image formats, each traced to the specification it comes from. If you find something wrong, tell us and it gets corrected. A source nobody can correct is not worth citing.
Work with FusionStudios
This tool exists partly because it is useful and partly because it is the clearest demonstration we have of what a browser can do with no backend at all. FusionStudios builds fast, private, client-side web tools and the sites around them. If you need something along these lines, get in touch.
